I asked some of my friends two questions:
1. What are you most passionate about? What drives you? Not something external like the support of your friends and family, but something that runs deeper. Something people might not know about you, or something everyone knows about you, it can be a subject that fascinates you, a social injustice that fuels your anger towards society, a hobby that you don't think you'd be you without. It can be anything, just dig a little.
2. When you were little what did you want to be when you grow up? Something that seems bizarre now or out of reach but something younger you found fascinating.
I think it's extremely interesting to see what people are passionate about and how it's sometimes connected to what they wanted to be when they grow up.
